Mr. Ziegler is a Managing Director at LSH Partners, a registered merchant bank headquartered in New York.
Over the past three decades, John has been a senior investment banker, entrepreneur and senior executive for a multi-national apparel manufacturer. He spent over a decade at Goldman Sachs rising to Managing Director while executing M&A and capital raising transactions across a broad range of industry verticals including consumer, technology, general industrial and financial services. While at Goldman, Mr. Ziegler’s work included the Estee Lauder IPO, Bank of America/NationsBank merger, Wells Fargo/Norwest merger, SunTrust acquisition of National Commerce, sale of Mellon mortgage to Chase Bank, the W.P. Stewart IPO, Neuberger Berman common stock offerings and the AMR Corp IPO of Sabre.
In 2005, John joined Sandler O’Neill as a partner. His coverage focus was on large regional banks, asset managers and processing businesses. While at Sandler, he worked on several significant merger and capital raising transactions including the sale of North Fork Bank to Capital One, the sale of Mercantile Bank to PNC and a $2.2 billion capital raise for SunTrust during the financial crisis.
After two decades working with successful entrepreneurs and business leaders as an investment banker, Mr. Ziegler decided to pursue his own entrepreneurial path. In 2014, John co-founded an athletic apparel brand. After four years of growing and diversifying the business, he executed a vertical integration merger and equity investment in Active Apparel Group (AAG), the company’s apparel manufacturer. Following the completion of the merger, he joined the AAG Board and management team as co-CEO. During his tenure, AAG more than doubled its revenues, successfully navigated the COVID supply chain crisis, diversified its customer base and attracted a significant investment from Meaningful Partners in 2021.
In 2022, Mr. Ziegler stepped down from day-to-day management at AAG to focus on advising and investing in businesses that would benefit from his diverse experiences as a senior banker and business leader. John remains a Board member and significant shareholder in AAG.
Mr. Ziegler graduated from UCLA with a B.A. in Economics and Business.
